With the colder weather just around the corner i’m now finding more time to get some wood turning projects made.
The old fashion antique peppermills seem to be very popular, so I’m making sure to have some extras made.
The peppermills get filled from the top.
There is a nut on the very top that you may use to adjust the grind of the pepper.
I always look for woods that have a lot of nice figure for these mills.
They are a conversation piece so the nice wood grain makes a difference.
Each peppermill gets finished by hand, and I always just do one at a time while the mill is still on the lathe.
I use a natural oil finish to bring out the beauty of the wood.
The only maintenance that is required is just to wipe the wood with a soft cloth and some furniture polish every now and then.
